The dog days are over

Summer officially came to a screeching halt this morning with the kids returning to school.  The beginning of this school year sure was different than in years past, but I am so grateful that my kids are back in school after a 6 month hiatus.  Not that I didn't enjoy them home with me, but I was worried how far they would be falling behind.  Besides lack of schedules, staying up too late, too much junk food, too much screen time and non-stop fighting there are lots of good reasons to get back into school.  We did end up doing a few fun things to end the summer.... We made a few trips to the cabin. We did an Escape Room - and figured it out with 2 seconds left on the clock! Jaedyn got her nails "did" We tie dyed t-shirts We enjoyed a "virtual" girls camp. We went to Lagoon for my birthday as well as to celebrate back to school. The kids also got new Vans, Carson got to learn all about swamp cooler repair and we finally got rid of the nasty play set! It was actual...

A New Year.....

A New Year... Today in church (YES! We actually got to go to church) Bishop Stauffer talked about a new year.  He said we typically think of the New Year in December/January.  We think of New Years Resolutions, we reflect on what we did right the past year, and look forward to what the New Year has to offer.   Tomorrow is my birthday.  I will be 44.  Tomorrow will be one year since I was kicked out of the house and headed straight towards a divorce.  Tomorrow will mark the one year anniversary of the beginning of the end of the bakery. Tomorrow will reflect the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year for a lot of kids (my kids don't start until Wed.) This past year has been incredibly hard. With the divorce, closing the bakery, starting back at Ultradent, a Pandemic and subsequent "Shelter in Place Order", kids being off of school and working my way through tons of thoughts and emotions. Trying to find hope and peace in my life....
