The dog days are over

Summer officially came to a screeching halt this morning with the kids returning to school.  The beginning of this school year sure was different than in years past, but I am so grateful that my kids are back in school after a 6 month hiatus.  Not that I didn't enjoy them home with me, but I was worried how far they would be falling behind.  Besides lack of schedules, staying up too late, too much junk food, too much screen time and non-stop fighting there are lots of good reasons to get back into school.  We did end up doing a few fun things to end the summer....

We made a few trips to the cabin.

We did an Escape Room - and figured it out with 2 seconds left on the clock!

Jaedyn got her nails "did"

We tie dyed t-shirts

We enjoyed a "virtual" girls camp.

We went to Lagoon for my birthday as well as to celebrate back to school.

The kids also got new Vans, Carson got to learn all about swamp cooler repair and we finally got rid of the nasty play set! It was actually not a half bad summer - even if we were "quarantined".

Paul came over and gave the kids (and me) some beautiful blessings the night before school started.  I am more and more each day thinking that one of the biggest things I need to learn in my life is Gratitude. I need to focus more on the positive and continue to use what I have been blessed with to help others.
